Letter from the Editor
Dear readers
This site has been running now for 10 years.
It's been an honour to be tasked with keeping it updated every day, mostly from the comfort of my office, but occasionally from the top of a mountain while hiking! It's amazing where you can pick up a cell signal.
I hope you're deriving benefit from reading the articles. I can't imagine you're deriving pleasure from them though - it's quite depressing to read what's happening each day in the news articles.
If you stuck to the mainstream media (CNN, BBC, etc.) you wouldn't have a clue about most of the stuff that's mentioned in our news articles - the mainstream media deliberately hides or distorts reality.
Many people I know just exist on a diet of mainstream media news, and they look at you blankly if you try to open their eyes to the truth. Either that or they become hostile. I expect it's a nasty shock to be made aware of a reality outside the one you've grown accustomed to. I won't name names, but I'm just saying that most people I've come across are like that. Sometimes the hostility is quite alarming and never lets up, no matter how much time goes by.
I don't know about you, but I've expected the Rapture to take place at any moment for a long time now. I don't know how much longer we have to go. I find it scary and exciting, in equal measure.
I'd like to read to you, briefly, from the Bible, if I may - specifically from Matthew Chapter 24, verses 3 to 8:
3 As he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately.
‘Tell us,’ they said, ‘when will these things happen? And what will be the sign that you are going to appear as king, and that the end of the age is upon us?’
4 ‘Watch out,’ replied Jesus. ‘Don’t let anyone deceive you. 5 You see, there will be several who will come along, using my name, telling you “I’m the Messiah!” They will fool lots of people. 6 You’re going to hear about wars, actual wars and rumoured ones; make sure you don’t get alarmed. This has got to happen, but it doesn’t mean the end is coming yet. 7 Nations will rise against one another, and kingdoms against each other. There will be famines and earthquakes here and there. 8 All this is just the start of the birthpangs.
If you don't already know, this section is talking about Jesus and what he told his close followers, describing the events that we can expect in between when Israel returns to its ancestral land (which happened in 1948, or fully in 1967 depending on your point of view) and the "end of the age" (pretty much the end of human history).
It describes signs which are similar to birth pangs, in the sense that they arise and then increase in intensity as time goes on, until the conclusion is reached.
The Church (and by this I mean those who truly believe and follow Jesus, who have a love for him in their heart and acknowledge him as their Lord) will be taken away from the Earth at this conclusion, and those who don't believe will be left to face the worst time in human history - the rise of the Anti-Christ and the horror of his one world government.
The media and Internet is full of people who claim to have all the answers or to be wise and sophisticated. There are even many so-called pastors who are leading people astray with non-Biblical teaching, such as Rob Bell, Kenneth Copeland and Rick Warren, to name but a few.
We've had several wars since 1948. Korea, Vietnam, twice in the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, etc. It's the intensity of conflict and strife which is increasing - look at how many semi-permanent commitments we have now and how much continuous tension there is. What's happening between Ukraine and Russia is a good example of strife which has been going on for a while (since at least 2014).
Rumours of war could easily describe Israel versus Iran, China versus Taiwan, North Korea versus South Korea, and so on.
Famine is coming. You only need to look at the growing scarcity of food (partly caused by natural things such as droughts and heatwaves and partly caused by conflicts and perhaps intentional sabotage of food processing factories).
In just one recent year, there have been 62,711 earthquakes around the world, many of magnitude 5 and above.
During the past two years under Biden, the chaos around us, and the fear it causes, seems to have increased markedly. I interpret this to mean that Satan knows his time to rule is almost at hand.
Political corruption, unaffordable energy price rises, food inflation, scarcity of some items, fear of terrorism, violent crime, drug use and immorality is now rife, and I don't even want to get started on the whole 'plandemic / clot-shot' thing.
The point is that the world is now rapidly spiralling out of control towards a definite end point - the removal of Godly people and the terrifying rule of the Anti-Christ over those who remain, for a period of 7 years known as "The Great Tribulation". Most people won't survive it. I sincerely hope you're not still on Earth during that time.
With the time we have left, please open your heart and pray to accept Jesus as your Lord and saviour. Set aside any pride you have, and any attachment to worldly things such as your home. Almost everything here on Earth will be destroyed during that 7 year period anyway.
Most people I know don't (I believe) have any intention of following my advice. They won't take any steps to validate it through research, simply because they don't want to find it's true. I could understand someone hearing something, looking into it fully and then deciding against based on the evidence, but it's very telling when someone refuses to even look into it. It means they know, deep down, what you've said is true, but it frightens them and it's easier to pretend it's not true.
As I mentioned earlier, sometimes people I've attempted to get through to have become very hostile and permanently stopped speaking with me. But I hope those people eventually realise that it isn't the role of a true friend to tell you only the things you want to hear. I've always spoken out of love and concern. It would have been far easier to say nothing and let people make mistakes.
Please, please, please, if this applies to you, accept Jesus with whatever time we all have left.
Best wishes
-John
